A nijmegeni Bach Kórus-t 1945–ben alapították, nevéhez kötődik az első, háború utáni 1946-ban előadott Máté Passió. A jelenlegi vegyeskórusnak körülbelül 100 tagja van. A repertoire főleg különböző korok nagy kórusműveiből áll, a Barokk kortól (Bach, Handel) a Klasszicizmus (Haydn, Mozart, Rossini) és a Romantika (Verdi, Brahms, Dvořák) zenéjén keresztűl egészen a 20. századi (Martinu, Duruflé, Hindemith and Szymanowski) művekig. Johann Sebastian Bach azonban különösen fontos szerepet játszik a kórus életében, minden évben műsorra tűzik a Máté vagy János Passiót a Húsvétot megelőző nagyhéten,gyakran fellépnek neves zenekarokkal a nijmegeni “ De Vereeniging “ nagy koncertteremben. Évente két hangversenyen a helyi “Het Gelders Orkest” filharmónikus zenekar kiséri a kórust, de gyakran szerepelnek különböző hangversenyeken barokk muzsikát játszó zenekarokkal, mint pl. a Concerto d’ Amsterdam.

 

A kórus előadásai nagy népszerűségnek örvendenek és kiváló sajtóvisszhangot kapnak évek óta. 2015-ben, két pünkösdi hangversennyel, Magyarországon ünneplik fennállásuk 70. évfordulóját
